I'm the newest Madame DeFarge

Except not as psycho. I have gotten addicted to knitting. I am working on a baby blanket for the Harry's daughter, Makenna. It's cream and pastel. It's turning out pretty well. This post will be pretty short because I'm at my friend's house sleeping over. Why do they call it sleeping over? Nobody ever sleeps. Take me and Mistie's sleepover last week. Time of sleep: 5:30 AM, Me and the Rachels. 5 AM. So yeah. Gonna go not sleep now.

Stressed

It's the end of the year again. Here's my easiest math problem:

Me + end of the year = MAJOR STRESS

I have 2 projects going on and teachers desperate to get all of their tests in before the end of the year. AUUGGHH!! So, when I'm stressed or upset, I usually lock myself in my room and listen to Celine Dion music. Well, recently stress has been so frequent, that Celine is kinda growing on me. So I'm listening to a variety of music, playlist including Evanescence, U2, Kelly Clarkson, Il Divo, Clay Aiken, Steven Curtis Chapman, Carmen, and a bunch more. Plus I've just been trying to find parts of movies I like, like Titanic and Evita. So yeah, it's kinda helping, but not much. So here is dialogue from a part of Titanic. Sis. Jewel, is this the part you said you liked?

Jack: Rose, you're no picnic, all right? You're a spoiled little brat, even, but under that, you're the most amazingly, astounding, wonderful girl, woman that I've ever known...
Rose: Jack, I...
Jack: No, let me try and get this out. You're an a- I'm not an idiot, I know how the world works. I've got ten bucks in my pocket, I have nothing to offer you and I know that. I understand. But I'm too involved now. You jump, I jump remember? I can't turn away without knowing you'll be all right... That's all I want.
Rose: Well, I'm fine... I'll be fine... really.
Jack: Really? I don't think so. They've got you trapped, Rose. And you're gonna die if you don't break free. Maybe not right away because you're strong but... sooner or later that fire that I love about you, Rose... that fire's gonna burn out...
Rose: It's not up to you to save me, Jack.
Jack: You're right... only you can do that.

Rebecca Ryan- Sunday School Teacher

As much as this may sound like the title of a new VERY scary movie, it happened today. We were in Minerva today and some kids were visiting. When we got there there were 11 people (including my family of 5). Today we had 14-16 people!! We had 4 kids there today, besides me and my brother and sister, so my dad called me over and said, "Hey, there are 6 kids here total other than you. Do you want to do Sunday School this morning?" So, I did. We threw a lesson together in about 10 minutes (it was really deep, Jonah and the whale . lol) and considering i had very little time to prepare, it went GREAT!! I loved being a sunday school teacher. It was so fun! So on the 4th (our last sunday there) i will be doing a class again, so i'll have a bit more time to prepare. lol. It was crazy, reeeally crazy, but i loved every minute of it. When we were in Indiana in February for that Sunday School Conference, I sat in on one of Bro. Terry Vic's classes about using drama in a Sunday School setting. He taught us a few games and activities to use and I used probably about 3 of them today. It was wonderful! I really need to learn to pace myself better though. My lesson was done at about 10:35 so we had about 40 minutes to kill. I tried by using some games and coloring things which took us up to 11. The last 15 minutes we cleaned up and put out any small fires they may have caused. I'm talking to my friend, Erica about it. It scares her. Observe...

Rebecca says:
guess what i did today?
Erica says:
what
Rebecca says:
I WAS A SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER!!
Erica says:
cool....where at?
Rebecca says:
in minerva
Erica says:
what age group?
Rebecca says:
where my dad has been for the past few weeks
Rebecca says:
we had my siblings
Erica says:
ha ha
Rebecca says:
and a 9, 11, 12, and 13 year old
Erica says:
wow!
Rebecca says:
it was fun
Rebecca says:
im blogging about it
Erica says:
lol
Rebecca says:
scary huh?
Erica says:
very
Rebecca says:
that im a sunday school teacher?
Rebecca says:
haha
Erica says:
scares me...lol
Rebecca says:
who'd of thunk it?
Erica says:
we would
Rebecca says:
seriously?
Erica says:
sure...
Erica says:
I figured some day we both would
Rebecca says:
haha
Erica says:
sounds like u had fun
Rebecca says:
ok, ill corrupt the youth
Erica says:
lol
Rebecca says:
and you attempt to put them back on the straight and narrow
Rebecca says:
lol
Rebecca says:
"attempt" being the key work
Erica says:
yeah...attempt
Rebecca says:
*word
Rebecca says:
they may be to far gone

Haha, frightening isn't it?

Partying- The Epilogue

Last night was a blast! Mistie came over at about 4 and we ordered pizza almost right away and started watching Man in the Iron Mask. Did you know that (as much as I love him) there is no Leonardo DiCaprio movie that you cannot make fun of? We tested that theory yesterday. We completely warped that movie. I don't remember the last time I laughed so hard. I couldn't walk. We were warping what the characters were saying and if nothing interesting was happening, we would dub it. Meaning we would mute the TV and come up with what they were saying. That got somewhat carried away. So, after that was over we played the Sims 2 computer game for a while and at about 11 we started Titanic. We watched the first half and then took a break, so by the time we had watched both parts it was 4 AM. We were so out of it we didn't even make fun of the smurf booger scene that much. lol. Sis.Jewel, you would have been proud of me, i only cried twice this time. lol. So then we stayed up until 5:30 saying that "What is the point of even going to sleep?" because she had to go and adopt a dog this morning at 7:45. So we ended up waking up at 7:40, and miraculously got to the Humane Society before anyone else anyway. Then I came home and played on the computer and watched movies and TV shows on YouTube. At about 5 my right side just started hurting so bad, I couldn't hardly stand to move. So I took 2 ibuprofen, put "A Goofy Movie" in, and layed on the couch, after having my grandma tell me that she would be over in a little while. Well, at about 8, I became actually awake, after having half-asleep conversations with my grandma for about half an hour. I feel much better now and not as tired. Still pretty tired. I'm gonna try to go to bed in the next hour or so and will probably sleep on the way to Minerva tomorrow. All in all, a great time was had.

Partying...again

Tonight my cousin, Mistie is coming over. I am ecstatic! It is gonna be a blast! I got Ben & Jerry's ice cream and we're watching Titanic to make fun of the smurf boogers scene (although i will still cry probably, lol) If you've read my Xanga, you'll know that my life is complicated at the moment. It'll be nice to have fun for a little bit. Not much else to talk about. My life is boring at the moment. LOL.

This is dumb

This is from the 50's. We're learning about all of this in History. It is so dumb. It's called the Good Wifes Guide.

Have dinner ready. Plan ahead, even the night before, to have a delicious meal ready on time for his return. This is a way of letting him know that you have be thinking about him and are concerned about his needs. Most men are hungry when they come home and the prospect of a good meal (especially his favourite dish) is part of the warm welcome needed.

Prepare yourself. Take 15 minutes to rest so you'll be refreshed when he arrives. Touch up your make-up, put a ribbon in your hair and be fresh-looking. He has just been with a lot of work-weary people.

Be a little gay and a little more interesting for him. His boring day may need a lift and one of your duties is to provide it.

Clear away the clutter. Make one last trip through the main part of the house just before your husband arrives. Run a dustcloth over the tables.

Over the cooler months of the year you should prepare and light a fire for him to unwind by. Your husband will feel he has reached a haven of rest and order, and it will give you a lift too. After all, catering for his comfort will provide you with immense personal satisfaction.

Minimize all noise. At the time of his arrival, eliminate all noise of the washer, dryer or vacuum. Encourage the children to be quiet.

Be happy to see him.

Greet him with a warm smile and show sincerity in your desire to please him.

Listen to him. You may have a dozen important things to tell him, but the moment of his arrival is not the time. Let him talk first - remember, his topics of conversation are more important than yours.

Make the evening his. Never complain if he comes home late or goes out to dinner or other places of entertainment without you. Instead, try to understand his world of strain and pressure and his very real need to be at home and relax.

Your goal: To try and make sure your home is a place of peace, order, and tranquillity where your husband can renew himself in body and spirit.

Don't greet him with complaints and problems.

Make him comfortable. Have him lean back in a comfortable chair or have him lie down in the bedroom. Have a cool or warm drink ready for him.

Arrange his pillow and offer to take off his shoes. Speak in a low, soothing and pleasant voice.

Don't ask him questions about his actions or question his judgment or integrity. Remember, he is the master of the house and as such will always exercise his will with fairness and truthfulness. You have no right to question him.

A good wife always knows her place.

About as insightful as I am ever gonna get..

Well, I am usually not a DEEP person but this has just been one of those days that sucks so much canal water that you can't help but think about the past. I was sitting in Algebra, my favorite place to think, because looking at my grade you wouldn't be able to tell that I do much else in that class, thinking about how much everything has changed in the past few years. I mean, if I look in my classes or in the hallways I will see people who used to be my buddies, who I used to hang with and spill my guts to. Some of them have changed in just the past little while. I have a friend who back around Christmas (and if he reads this, I am sorry but that is just how I feel, as with some of the other people who may guess I am talking about them should they read this) I had a problem and I was bawling my eyes out and he (in not the greatest way, but still) defended me and helped me. Now we only talk when doing Lit. Circles in English. There are a bunch of girls who are extremely popular and all that now, who a couple of years ago I was sitting in classes with laughing at how some words sounded funny and all of that. We don't talk anymore. The one that probably bothers me the most is one friend who I have known forever (even when we hated each other) who I can't even talk to face-to-face anymore. This is someone who I thought I could always trust and had always been there for me. We were in the group that attempted to start a 6th grade newspaper (tried being the key word), laughed at the dumbest things (like squirrels), and I could talk to about alot of things, including nothing (trust me, nothing is a subject). I mean sure we weren't "best friends" or anything but, you know, they're just one of those people who can make any friend seem like a "best friend". It's depressing. I think I give up on any social activity. Maybe I'll become one of those nuns who take a vow of silence. Then I wouldn't have to worry about it.

The internet is a wonderful thing

Scrubs, Grey's Anatomy, Will and Grace, Friends.... I love all of these shows. And I don't have TV. So this is a problem. Or was. I found a solution!! INTERNET!! Last night I spent about 2 hours watching Grey's Anatomy clips on YouTube. And tonight on Yahoo! Search I found 2 episodes so far of Scrubs. Guess what I'm watching while I'm eating dinner? Haha. The only downside is it is taking forever for the dumb video to load. It's about 60% done now and it's been 10 minutes. Bummer.

I have 13 people on my mind

Q: Can you name 13 people you can think of right off the top of your head? Don't read the questions underneath until you write the names of all 13 people...This is a lot funnier if you actually randomly list the names first...No Cheating!!!

1. Maggie
2. Hayley
3. Erica
4. Rachel C.
5. Rachel W.
6. Aaron
7. Zac
8. Deana

TGIF

This week has been pretty long. We've had that dumb fitness testing all week and played baseball today in gym, none of which are on my fun n' games list. So I am glad it's a weekend. My friend Rachel wants me to come over tonight and I am waiting for mom and dad to answer. SSo we'll see. Today I had a vocab test in English. I think I got an A on it. Turned in my essay. Apparently 24% of it is "plagerized". I used quotes alot though, so Mrs. Humphrey said it was ok. In Algebra we are doing "advanced trinomials". Boy, those are fun. It is a common misconception that I hate math. That's really not true. I do like math. It just frustrates me. I would be able to express my fondness for it a lot easier. I kind of get this math so I like it a lot better. Well, there is not much going on on this end so I'm outta here.

Happy as a clam

I am having a pretty good day. Except for 1st period (don't ask) school wasn't even bad. I love english right now. I have read Romeo and Juliet probably 5 times before and this time we're going over it in class and I am actually enjoying learning the "behind the scenes" stuff. It's fairly interesting. I also found out that my friend does not have cancer!!! YAY!! I am listening to Wicked right now too. And the number one reason that I am in a good mood is that.......

I FOUND TITANIC DELETED SCENES!! WOOHOO!!
So that, dear folks is why I am happy as a...wait..why is the saying "happy as a CLAM"?are clams really happy?I doubt it. They have a living space smaller than my hand and we EAT them. Why are they happy? Hmmmmm...It doesn't make sense.

Essay Removal

My essay is being removed for the time being so that I can turn it in to the anti-plagerism site without being docked. It'll be back once my paper is returned to me. If you are desperate for a copy, leave me a comment and I will e-mail it to you.

Here's that essay I'm working on....hopefully turnitin doesn't dock me for this..*winces*

“Wait in Dover for Mam’selle. It’s not long, you see, guard. Jerry, say that my answer is ‘recalled to life’.” This statement by Jarvis Lorry represents one of the most prominent cases of “Recalled to Life” in the book, A Tale of Two Cities, by Charles Dickens, that of Dr. Alexandre Manette. When reading this book, most emphasis is placed on the “recalling” of the doctor and Charles Darnay, nephew to the Marquis Evermonde. However, there are many minor characters whose “recalling” has great importance to the story. In A Tale of Two Cities, the Jacquerie and lower class, the country of France, and Sydney Carton play a great role in the meaning behind “recalled to life”.
“Ah! So much the worse! A bitter taste it is that such poor cattle always have in their mouths, and hard lives they live, Jacques. Am I right, Jacques?” This quote by a Jacques to Monsieur Defarge tells of the hardships that the lower class and the members of the Jacquerie faced in the time of the Revolution. The lower class were a much abused part of life during the pre-Revolutionary era. There was not enough food to go around and as we can see by the illustration of the Marquis’ carriage and Gaspard’s son, they were viewed as unimportant and in the way. I believe that the Revolution was their way of saying that enough was enough and that the nobility had gone way too far. As for how this relates to “Recalled to Life”, this can go several ways. The way I choose to interpret it is that the French lower class never really had life. They were abused, starved, and treated like animals. The revolution was their way of saying that enough was enough and that they were ready to begin life. So I guess in this respect they may be “called to life” rather than recalled.
“It is a far, far better thing I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest that I go to than I have ever known” This quote by Sydney Carton shows his true character. After an entire book of being painted as a drunkard with a wasted life, unable to be redeemed, we can finally see the good in the man. Carton did indeed waste his life. He drank a lot. And as he told Mr. Lorry, he had no one to care for and no one to care for him. But, he loved Lucie Manette with all of his heart. “For you, and for any dear to you, I would do anything” At the end of the book, Carton fulfills this promise to the only woman he has ever loved, drugging Darnay and taking his place on La Guillotine. His love for Lucie caused him to sacrifice and redeem his wasted life.
France is a very large, but at the same time, very small part of Tale of Two Cities. However, “recalled to life” can describe the country. France

Cute

Vegetarian Day

Ok, normally I love pizza. I mean come on. I'm 15. But today, for the 6th time this month, they were serving SCHOOL PIZZA. I had enough. I looked on the menu.

Vegetarian Griller w/ Vegetarian Chili
Salad
Breadstick
Fresh Fruit
Milk
So I ask the cook (quite hesitantly) "What is in the Veggie Griller?" She tells me that it is just a veggie burger. Oh gee, thanks for that wonderous explanation. So I am briefly contemplating the pizza. And then I look at that disgusting, goopy, oily, greasy mess of cheese and bread, and lord-knows- what meat that they call pepperoni and I say "Vegetarian Griller and Chili please" Despite the smarmy looks and gagging noises from my lunch buddies, I eat this animal friendly meal, prepared to run off to the nearest restroom. But then........ IT WAS AWESOME!!!! The burger was a rice burger thing with onions and mushrooms ground into it (and I hate mushrooms so for me to say that it was good is a stretch for me) with cheese (obviously not a VEGAN meal) and the chili was basicly bean soup in a thick tomato sauce. Delicous. Plus, I love the school salads. They don't have them often. So much for promoting a good diet. Other than that today consisted of:
Personal Development- starting the career unit. my highest cluster was (shocker here) Health and Medical Services which was a 29/30
Gym- started out playing football which I love and then nobody wanted to play so I shot hoops the rest of the period
Spanish- we're starting kitchen and cooking terms. i have a quiz tomorrow. not much happened here
Algebra- uggggghhh..don't wanna talk about it. Had a pop quiz on Factoring Monomials. The crazy part was that the teacher goes "Does everyone understand it?" A resounding "NO!!" from the entire class. Then he passes out the quizzes....
Lunch- VEGGIE BURGER AND CHILI!!
English- I am learning to love this class. I am kinda bummed that Humphrey is retiring. She's not the dragon she used to be. We're reading Romeo and Juliet (I love this play) and we peer-revised our essays for Tale of Two cities. Mine rocks. Will put it on here later.
Science- I got one unending nosebleed this period. Very annoying since we did a video worksheet and I missed half of it
History- I love this class. We talked about Socialism, Capitalism, and Communism. I asked a question and that launched the whole class into debate. They hate me. I love it. Move on.
I am still waiting to find out about my friend who they think has cancer. She had tests run Thursday and hasn't heard anything yet. I hate the waiting part. This is the second time in a span of 5 months that I have had to wait for this kind of news. It bugs me. Well, it is getting late so I better go. Type to you later.

FUN!!

Well, I had a blast last night/this morning! I went to the Master Youth Rally in columbus. It was incredible. Bro.Shay Mann preached about magnifying God and the alter service was incredible! People were jumping and dancing and worshipping everywhere! AMAZING!! Well, then at about 10 PM we all left for the Lock-In at the YMCA in Powell. OMGosh it was sooooooo fun! I was determined not to lose any energy so immediately when I got there I downed two mountain dews. Well, you may think, awww that gave her enough of a caffeine kick. Wow, you are soooo wrong. Here is the breakdown-
Coffee (cream and sugar)- 6 cups
Mountain Dew- 4 cans
Water- 2 bottles.
The only reason the water was in there was so I could detox and keep my kidneys for committing treason. lol. They had DDRMax2 there last night...SO FUN!! I am so bad at the game, but I love it. The only bad thing is that I screwed up my foot when I was in 2nd grade, so if I strain it too much, it KILLS!!Well, after my first round of DDRMax, my foot was going into spasms and hurt like the bad place. So, of course there are no ice packs, so I have to (no joke) ice my foot with a Coke can that has been in the cooler. lol. It was a pretty funny sight. Well, after about 15 minutes, I was fine, and was an idiot and played again. It didn't hurt as bad the rest of the night. Lucky for me. Well then, Bro.Ellis decides that he is going to play DDRMax. HILARIOUS!! It was just too funny. Well, Bro.Ben said that our group was not leaving until 6 AM and by that time most of us were beat (i was still on a caffeine high, lol) so we left at 5:45 and most everyone (except me of course) tried to sleep. Tried. Me and Bro. Ben were picking on everyone as soon as they were starting to fall asleep. It was hilarious. they hated us. Well, in about Centerburg, I crashed from my caffiene high and was exhausted. So i came home and crashed for 2 hours and now i am fine. So that was my evening/morning. On today's agenda...

SIS.GREEN IS GETTING MARRIED!!!

I am so excited for her! I can't wait! Then at 7:30 me and dad are going to Long Live Rock N' Roll. Tomrrow we are going to Minerva. So that's my weekend. My brother just made cinnamon rolls and i am starving so bye!

See? Funnyjunk.com is an idiot!

This is another pic of "racoons". Stupid people

Oh yeah, Almost forgot

TODAY IS CINCO DE MAYO
Sorry, just had to put that. Being in Spanish 2 and all I thought it was appropriate.

I like to move it, move it

If anyone has seen Madagascar, you will know how annoying the Move it, Move it song is. Anyway, when I saw this picture I immediately thought of that scene from Madagascar. I also determined that the people on Funnyjunk.com are idiots. I think this is probably the 4th picture I have seen where they call these things raccoons! (These are lemurs BTW) How dumb is that? Anyway, at the moment I am trying to find the "Move it, Move it" song, because it is early, I am tired, and for once have no song stuck in my head and it just gets lonely with no voices in there. So anyway, I will try to post later.

The Funeral

Well, we just got done burying Elphie. We buried her right next to where Eva (her sister) is buried, in the flowers. I think my brother was worse than I was. He cried, I mean I did too, but not to the extent that he did. He's just starting to get the concept of "died". But, I was doing better last night until I was going to sleep and then there was no squeaky wheel keeping me up, or no escape attempts, or no knocking the water bottle down that I had to get up and fix. It was so quiet. Too quiet. It's amazing the difference that a (and i hate this word, because I hate most things in this group) rodent who weighs less than a pound and makes almost no noise (except when she is hissing at you) can make. I miss her a lot. A ridiculous amount for a hamster. But anyway, Dad said I should quit naming my hamsters after tragic characters from musicals. Maybe that's true.

Because I knew you:I have been changed for good.

In Mourning

I just got home from church about 30 minutes ago. I came home to a very sad sight. Elphie was motionless in her little wooden house in her cage. She's dead. I am beside myself at the moment. We have no idea how or why she died. I am just in shock.

I hate musicals

For some reason I cannot listen to a musical or see one without getting at least one of the songs stuck in my head. You can imagine how terrible this is for me because..."Darling, I live for the thee-a-tuh". I have seen Beauty and the Beast twice on Broadway, and Mama Mia once, have seen the movie of Rent (REEEEEEALLY wanna see the musical), and am obsessed with Wicked (WANT TO SEE THIS THE MOSTEST!! And I am really obsessed. See hamsters name) Anyway, to the left is my favorite Broadway actress,Idina Menzel (although I have never seen her on Broadway, but have seen her in the movie of Rent, and have the soundtracks to Wicked and Rent, which she starred/costarred in) Here she is in whatever year holding up her Tony for Best Actress in a Musical (Wicked). Here is my "what the hay" thought of the day. At this Tony Awards thing she also preformed Defying Gravity in full Elphaba costume, green face and all. So, since she did that before she accepted her award I am thinking "Wow that is some talent..No green in sight." So anyway, here is the Defying Gravity thing.. Enjoy!

P.S. Dad did u notice that the guy announcing them is the original Wizard of Oz? The high pitched, very original voice kinda gives it away..
