Audition Buddy

I now have an audition buddy for OZ try-outs. My next door neighbor, Rachel, is another one of my best friends and also is my audition buddy. This means I will be performing my dialouge with her and going to her for my nervous breakdown directly before singing my song. I am going to be a wreck September 12 (audition day). I have to sing a song. I am singing something from Wicked. I haven't decided yet. It will either be-

  • The Wizard and I (track 3)
  • Popular (track 7)
  • I'm not that girl (track 8)
  • (If I can talk one of my friends into doing it with me) Loathing (track 4)

The link to the Wicked Script and these songs

Listen to the songs and comment what you think that I should sing.

I'm gonna jump, jump, jump...

Or at least my muscles are. I don't know what the deal is but pretty much every nerve and muscle in my body has been jumping. It is pretty uncomfortable. I just have not felt the greatest recently. Which is exactly why I am pretty much begging my parents to spare me the 2 hour drive to and from Minerva tonight. I really hate the idea of being cramped in the car with my nerves already going postal on me. On the better side of the day, I AM NO LONGER IN STUPID MATH!!! I got my schedule switched around today and am now in Fundamental Geometry. I also got placed in Honors English. The only downside is that in order to change my schedule, I had to give up my 1st period World Studies class with extremely cute teacher. WAH!

*Update- I am staying home tonight due to excessively jumpy nerves

I'm a missionaries helper.....

This song was a long time joke between my parents and the Frakes. Don't ask why, because I will embarass myself by not knowing the answer. Here's why I titled my post as such. While in DC a few weeks ago, I felt a HUGE calling there. It is my favorite city in the world, so it can't be a coincidence that I got the oppurtunity to go and do missions there can it? So, maybe that's the reason. So, I was talking to my dad about this and he told me that at 17, I can apply to get my ministerial license. I have taken great thought to this and I think I am going to go for it. Not only will I have a good head start on the whole missions thing, I get a bunch of good perks, like the right to perform funerals. So, I am going to pray about it some more and see what I can find in the reading department of the requirements. Leave me some comments to let me know what you think.

3rd Period Study Hall

I'm in Study Hall now, where in the library, the last few minutes are free time to browse and stuff on the computer. I've been working on my Bio I project most of the period. I got a few slides done on my powerpoint, you know the kind, with gross pictures of tumors and such. Here's the geeky part though. I actually enjoy this research! It's wierd. Probably good. But wierd. Most people my age would begin to snore at the sight of the word "blastema" but I think all this stuff is interesting. It's almost scary. Speaking of snoring, I now love my World Studies class even more than before. Mr. Gottke has decided that because we are his first class, which starts a little before 8 AM, that we are allowed to bring coffee and pop into his class and a light snack to increase our energy, if that will make a difference. I don't know about the increasing energy part, but I am definately taking every oppurtunity available to bring coffee to school. Well, I should probably go now, because the bell just rang. It's off to Bio!

Not a good week

Ok, well school is going good, but my week all in all has been crappy so far. My grandpa got put in the hospital last night and had to stay over. He ended up having Pneumonia and a sinus infection, but I was really worried. But, the good stuff that happened just yesterday was what preserved my sanity-

  1. We're doing -ologies in Bio for powerpoint research projects and I got ONCOLOGY!!!! YAY!!
  2. I found out what the fall musical for school is this year- Wizard of Oz and I am sooo trying out.

My favorite class so far is probably Bio. But Spanish 3 rocks too. Not much else going on.

From Michael to Gabri-

"Gabri, if they find out that you're a superhero.....you need to run for your life!!"

Back to Mount Vernon

When I was little, I was always really excited when people who had left our church to go somewhere else came back to visit. I never thought I would be one of them. My family and I went to Mount Vernon for chuch last night, because the Borliks were doing a family revival. So, when we got there everyone was excited to see us. It was good to be missed. I ended up sitting with Mistie in church, who I have decided I am not allowed to sit by anymore. LOL. She kept making me laugh during service. Good thing it was a children's service and they were laughing anyway, so I wasn't too conspicuous. For example, Sis. Borlik went around and passed out imaginary rocks as part of the object lesson. She said something, supposed to be hypothetical, about "what does your rock look like". Mistie turned to me and said "He's green and his name is Gus." I about died. So then, we were supposed to close our hand around the rock, which suffocated poor Gus. By the time we could open our hands again, Gus was a blue rock and not even Mistie doing CPR saved him. LOL. It was too funny. Well, I better get off here so that I can go to school.

Geek or Nerd?

I took the "Geek Test" tonight an found out that I rank as a geek. Just a plain geek. Yay! The test ranks you from Geekish Tendencies (9% and below) to Dysfunctional Geek (75% and above). I ranked a 17.94872%. Just plain geek. That is comforting. Really. It is.

I then took the "Nerd Test". Oh, this is much more comforting. I am 34% Nerd.A.K.A. A Nerd Wannabe. Special. Really it is.

Be honest people, does it show?

First Day Update

First day was not so bad. Only one class that I hate with a passion. I got stuck in STUPID MATH!!!! Arrggh. I didn't even get into fundamental geometry. I am in Bridges I, which is pretty much getting held back without getting held back. My class of 12-15 kids consists of druggies, goths, preps, and jocks on steroids. Fun, huh? I love my Parenting class. It's pretty cool. Oh, and I was reunited with an old friend today. In 5th grade, me and my then best friend, Zac, had another friend that we hung out with all the time named Drew. He disappeared after 7th and I had no clue what happened to him. Well, when I was walking in to school today I saw a kid and told Rachel "Hey, that kind of looks like Drew." Well, I figured that it wasn't and forgot about it. Well, I was at my locker and the kid comes up to me and goes "Hey, Rebecca!" It WAS Drew! I was ecstatic, seeing as I hadn't seen him in 3 years and he just kind of popped up. That was cool. All in all, the first day was a success.

Woohoo!

I'm a sophmore! I'm a sophmore! *does happy dance* I leave for school in probably 15 or 20 minutes as a.......Sophmore! I'm a sophmore *does happy dance again* Can you tell I'm excited? I am ready for school now! The only issue is that I put on my shoes and then looked in the mirror- blue shirt with navy tank, blue jean skirt, brown doc martens. Doesn't exactly flow does it? So, I have to get some different shoes or just say forget it and go with my favorite tried and true docs. Sooo... wish me luck. Oh, and check out my new link on the sidebar to Deana's site. She hasn't added anything yet but I will get on her case about it.

Last Day of Vacation

Today was my last day of summer vacation. It has come to an end so fast, it's amazing. I've had a great day. I had to get up at 6 AM for it to start though. We left at about 7:30 and I slept in the car while my dad went to his appointment and we drove to Easton. I was so out of it in the car that when I woke up I found a Reese's Fast Break (one of my favorite candy bars) in my purse. I asked my mom how it got there. She explained that she had bought it for me at a gas station, handed it to me, and I had said thank you. I remembered none of this so I will just have to take her word for it. We went to Max and Erma's in Easton and I had Tortilla Soup and a Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. I didn't finish the sandwich so it is in the fridge right now. The soup was delicous. Then we went to Mount Carmel St. Ann's Hospital to see the Dennison's new baby girl. She's beautiful! She looks like her mom. Then we drove home and I slept all the way home. So I have had a very well rested day at least. LOL.

Yet another stolen pic from DC

Would have put this up earlier but I just noticed it. It's from the same album. This is the whole group at Van Ness station, right before we went to the missionaries' apartment for the pizza/ 20 minute prayer over food. Good times. Funny story about this picture. Well, sort of. We were asking several random innocent bystanders to take the picture of our group and most of them just kind of blew us off. The guy who took this picture was so nice. In the beginning only 2 or 3 of us handed him a camera. Then some one said "Can you take one more?" and about 12 of us brought our camera over. He was such a good sport. He took pictures for all of us. It was funny.
Back Row (L-R)- Adam C., Aaron, Jenna, Shelley, Megan, Erica, Tim, Paul
Middle Row (L-R)- Tiffany, Sarah,Jeremiah, Krystal, Michelle, Jordan, Sis. Brandy
Front Row- (L-R) Justin, Me, Nicole, Bro. Eric, Adam B., Ashley, Marribridget
Very, Very front- Israel

Ok, Deep breath...

Well, apparently the world hasn't come to an end.....yet. So, I know all of you were on edge, but you can calm down now. LOL. Tonight is my last night that I can stay up until all hours, because *gag* school starts on Thursday. I have my back to school outfit ready to go and I am going to try to do this one flippy thingy to my hair that Cassie taught me how to do at camp. I got to school today to pick up my schedule and was greeted in the middle of the hallway by Rachel. She informed me that as she approached the table to get her schedule, they had closed. Darn. So I have to go back tomorrow and get it. I got a new lunchbox today. I haven't used a lunchbox since I was in 5th grade, but I am sick and tired of my lunch bag breaking and the contents spilling everywhere while the upperclassmen laugh in my direction. So I got a lunchbox. It is very cool and if the digital camera was working, I would put a picture up of the actual lunchbox, but instead I put up a picture of a lunchbox of the same brand and colors, just not style. Why? Because I can.

At least one pic from DC *updated*

Cheerier post. Stole this pic from Ashley because I haven't gotten my film from DC developed yet. This is the girls from the trip.
Front Row (L to R)- Nicole, Tiffany, Ashley, Marribridget, Me
Back Row (L-R)- Megan, Erica, Jenna, Shelley
*update* Sarah and Sis. Brandy are not in the picture because they were TAKING the picture

August 22- End of the world?

At first when my friend Cassie told me about this I thought it was a joke. There was a dead silence on the IM and all of the sudden she says "Did you hear that people think that the world will end tomorrow?" I laughed at first.

me (11:41:47 PM): my mom thinks that it will stop, start spinning the other way (and will turn upside down) causing all the water to fall out of the ocean and drown everybody
(11:42:07 PM): plus everyone will fall to their death when the earth goes upside down
(11:42:20 PM): lol
cassie (11:42:58 PM): lol
(11:43:10 PM): my mom thinks that the moon is gonna fall
me (11:43:20 PM): seriously?
(11:43:28 PM): lol
cassie (11:44:44 PM): lol
me (11:45:58 PM): oh, and my mom says that if she is right then u have to pay her tomorrow

But then I found the article that she was talking about. It scares me. But then again a lot of the end time stuff scares me. I don't know what it is. Maybe it's the fact that my uncle left church about 6 years ago and still hasn't come back. Maybe I think that I am missing something and don't know it or that I won't be "prayed up" when God comes back. Or maybe it's that I am so young and have so much in life that I haven't experienced or accomplished. I mean, I want to have a family someday and be a doctor. Everyone has told me that when I get there it will be so wonderful that I won't care. And believe me, I want to see my Grandma so badly. But I am here now and have so many plans for my life. I know there is something better but I don't know that I am ready for it. It makes me afraid that maybe I am just getting content in this life. I don't know. Eternity is a long time. It may just be that the idea of anything never ending scares me because it is beyond what my mind can grasp. Any thoughts?

New Blogger

I switched to Blogger Beta. It rocks. Doesn't do much that I know of, but apparently it is supposed to be better so I switched. Had a good day today. Went to Great Lakes Science Center. It was pretty cool. We went to the OMNIMAX, which is alot like IMAX, but a lot bigger. Made me and Mom really dizzy and having a T-Rex from a commercial jump into your face isn't all that fun, but otherwise it was awesome. The movie was about ancient Greece. It was awesome. The Science Center reminded me of COSI before the ruined it...I mean, moved. It was awesome. Their medical exhibit was fantastic. It had a MRI machine that you could "scan" a plastic person in and wheelchair races and videos of heart caths. It was awesome.

Barberton Sunday School Rally

I'm at a hotel in Barberton now. My parents came to get me early because we're going to Great Lakes Science Center tomorrow. My aunt took me shopping and I got a new jean skirt and shirt. I was psyched! I can never find jean skirts.Just got back to the room. The SS Rally went terrific. 10 that I know of got the Holy Ghost. This was my first event as someone in section 2. I was amazed at how many of my friends were there. It was a blast. The Pritts were there and Ryan sat with me, my mom, and my siblings. He's so funny. Bro.Rowland was doing one of his puppet things and she was saying something about "Oh, I just saw a cute boy out there.", and Ryan turned back to me and Mom and said something along the lines of "She was talking about me." It was hilarious. I saw a bunch of people from Canton and the Stewarts. Then we went out to dinner with the Rowlands, Ellers, and Sis.Pamer at TGI Fridays. It was good. So now we are watching Frasier in the hotel and I am catching up on the internet stuff. So ttyl.

YAY!!

For the Mt.Vernon crowd, I have some awesome news. Sis. Stephanie Dillingham has a new baby girl!!! I'm ecstatic. I am friends with her eldest, Kaylen, and just got the news about 15 minutes ago. I'm psyched for them! You can find all of the details about her on Kaylen's site.

P.S. The baby looks like her dad, like Kaylen and Kyle do. If you click on the icon with the camera it should take you to a picture of her. She's beautiful!!

DC Journals

DC was an awesome experience for all of us who were involved. It was a blast and we had some awesome moves of God while we were there. I have a lot to say about my trip so, here it is-

Thursday PM- We ended up leaving about 2 hours behind schedule. We got our room assignments (just a side note- MY ROOM-MATES WERE AWESOME!!!!) and our list of etiquette or whatever for the White House. It is at this point that I realize that I have no photo ID. Bro. Eric (that's Bro.Eric Foster, the Link youth pastor) tells me not to worry and that he will figure something out. So, we head to Wendy's for a "quick" dinner and we end up leaving the beautiful city of Canton at about 8:15 PM. So, here is what basicly happens during the trip. The first hour of the trip we played the song game (which ended abrubtly when nobody could think of another song with "manger" in it other than that classic Christmas tune) and concentration, which I am very bad at. The rest of the trip consisted of-
  1. I sit idly for a few minutes
  2. I call Mistie to declare that I'm bored.
  3. I call Deana for the same purpose as Mistie. (Plus, once I enter a new state)
  4. We stop to stretch legs.
  5. Repeat as needed to reach 7 hours

We got into the city of Rockville, Maryland at 3:17 AM. I know because I snapped a picture of my cell phone proclaiming the time. So, Bro. Eric goes in to check our group in to the Ramada Inn. NEVER GO THERE!!!!!!! Allow me to explain why with an excerpt from the documentary that was made from the trip, narrated by Tiffany-

"Ok, this is Bro. Eric going in to check us in to the hotel......he's talking to the innkeeper....oh no...he' flaling his arms...he's pacing...he's coming back to the van...he doesn't look too happy"

What Tiffany was filming was Bro. Eric being told that the Ramada Inn had given away our rooms. This caused a great uproar in the van including Sis.Brandi yelling "Tell them what happened last time there was no room in the Inn for God-filled people!" This lightened the mood a bit. The Ramada ended up paying for us to stay at the Doubletree Hotel overnight (a very nice hotel). We ended up going to bed at about 4:30 AM.

Friday- We had to get up at 7:30 and surprisingly I didn't feel all that tired. I had forgotten my brush so I had to fix my hair with a cheap comb from the hotel. So, we had to dress up because we were going to the White House. This meant that 14 girls had to wear high heels. This is important info for later. There were 25 of us on the trip, by the way. Anyway, to get to our tour of the Capitol Building on time we have to be there at 9:30 AM. The next dilemma. Our all-day Metro passes are not activated until 9:30. So we had to skip the Capitol building. This means that we have 1 1/2 hours to kill before we have to be at the White House. You would think that that would be easy. No. It isn't. We ended up at Federal Triangle Station at 10:55 AM, due to a bunch of dilemmas that I won't mention. Now, here was the fun part, and I really do mean that. Remember what I told you about the heels? Well, about 6 of those girls (me included) decided that somebody had to get there and give them our name so we wouldn't miss that tour too. So we took off our shoes and ran barefoot through the streets of DC. We must have looked hilarious but it was so fun and how many people can say that they have done that? We got there at 11:03 but they allowed us in anyway. Next comes the point of my ID. My dad had faxed my ID from school since I had forgotten mine. It was a little blurry so I wasn't sure if I would get through. I was in the middle of the line and once I got up there I handed my ID to the guard. She looked at me kind of funny then turned to the other guard and asked "Do you want to accept this?" They ended up letting me through. I think everyone else was more excited that I got in than I was, which was saying a lot. They said they were all on the other side of the gate praying. The White House was incredible! The green room and red room have fabric on the walls. It was just breathtaking. I can't even descibe it. And they wouldn't allow us to take cameras in. Well, after the tour we were all just goofing off in the plaza for a while. Then we headed to Union Station. I came to know and love this place very much. We ate lunch there everyday. And shopped. They had Starbucks, which was a wonderous sight for us with only 2-3 hours sleep. I had lunch at a place called Flamer's. It is a lot like Burger King and was delicous. We decided to go back to the Ramad briefly as they had promised to have our rooms ready. We got there at 3:30 and they still didn't have them ready. Did I mention you should never go there? It took about an hour but we finally got checked in. We did some sightseeing and then we went to the home of the Statens. They are the metro-missionaries to DC. They had rented the party room in their apartment building and there was pizza, cookies, and pop. Sidenote- Sis. Staten can make some mean oatmeal raisen cookies. They were so good. Before we ate we prayed over the food. This turned into a 20 minute prayer meeting. It was amazing. I was just in awe of how strong the power of God moved in that little room. After this we played Mafia and then went back to the hotel.DC is not however my favorite place to be at night. It was kind of scary walking even in a group. We got back to the hotel at about 10 and then Nicole, one of my roomates, decided that we should have a party in our room. Sarah, another roomate, decided to go to a different room so she could sleep. Shelley said she didn't care and all the girls ended up in our room and nails were done and a good time was had by all. Oh, yeah, and I was the youngest girl on the trip.

Saturday- got up at 8. We had to meet in the lobby at 9 so we could be at Woodley Park/Adams Morgan at 10. When we got there there was a street vendor. I got gifts for the Blossoms ( my siblings) and my friend, Rachel. We passed out flyers for the service over 10 blocks. It was very fun. Woodley Park is a beautiful neighborhood. So after that was over, we headed to Union Station again. I followed my friends Maribridget (who was dubbed Marimidget on the trip and this led to a very funny set of impersonations by one of the guys on the trip. On the last day we ended up filming all of them and making it into "The life and times of Marimidget". The best part was that Maribridget laughed harder than the rest of us most of the time.) and Megan to this restaurant called Corner Bakery. I love Corner Bakery. They have the best soup on earth. I had Broccoli and Chedder and it was so creamy and delicious. After this we once again went sightseeing. We went by the Washington Monument and reflecting pool. And the Capitol Building and White House. Our feet were killing us. So almost all the girls decided that once we got to the WW2 Memorial, the fountain would be a good place for our feet. And it was. As we were regrouping we came to the realization that we were missing someone. We realized that it was Shelley's husband, Paul. She called him and apparently when we stopped at the WW2 Memorial he had kept walking not realizing that nobody was behind him until he got to the Lincoln Memorial. It was hilarious. So we had to wait about 10 minutes for him to get back. At this point I decided I should call Rachel and gloat.

Me:Hey what's up?

Rachel:Not much. Sitting in my room with my dog. You?

Me: Sitting on a bench and to the right I can see the Jefferson Memorial, to the left, the WW2 Memorial, and ahead I can see the Washington Moument

Rachel: I hate you.

Now, when you are passing out flyers, the 10 blocks goes fast, when you are running to church, not so much. We were an hour late but service was excellent anyway. We had probably 3 alter calls throughout the servive. Simply amazing. After service we met with the cousin of some of the people in the group and his fiancee, named Dan and Evelyn. Evelyn is from Maryland and comes to DC often so we let her decide where we ate. She suggested Chinatown. I was psyched! Chinatown is knock-off central and ever since Rachel came back with a knock-off Louis Vuitton and a Burberry I have wanted one. So we arrived in Chinatown and half of us went to Chipotle and half of us went to Ruby Tuesday's. My group never did see the logic in that. So, in Chipotle I got my usual and went and sat down. What happened next about made me cry and I will never forget it. A homeless man approached us and asked if we would buy him a cheeseburger from McDonald's because he hadn't eaten in 3 days. We weren't allowed. It was so sad. Here's my advice if you want to go to DC. Go to Chinatown in daylight. Because-

  1. The knock-off vendors are actually open then.
  2. At night it is one of the scariest places I have ever been.

Sirens were going off and it was incredibly congested. The restroom in Chipotle had been locked so we had to go across the street to Starbucks. Me, Nicole, and Sis.Brandi were heading over and I was terrified. I asked Nicole if I could stick with her and she said definately and to hold on to her bookbag so I didn't get lost in the crowd. Around this point she tells us "Try not to look like torists. These people can smell fear." I said "Nicole, I don't think natives hold on to bookbags." She said beside that point we could probably blend in. We went to cross the street and we had a Walk sign on the traffic signal. apparently those don't mean anything in DC. We almost got hit and were cussed at and had horns honked at us. It was not good times. We finally left with me hyperventilating and so scared I about wet myself. Not fun

Sunday-church day. Had to get up at 7:30, got dressed and actually made it to church on time. A lot of vistiors in the morning service. Our group took over the music and things like that.A very nice service. Great response and alter call. Afterwards, we headed to Union Station for lunch. Loaded Baked Potato soup today. Also delicious. At 3:30 we had to be at our next service in Friendship Heights, which is a city on the border of DC and Maryland. The church we went to was split between a Greek Orthodox church and the Apostolic Church was in the basement. We didn't know this fact so we sat down in the actual sanctuary. After about 10 minutes the Father comes out and asks what we are doing there. We explain that we are there for the service. He looks confused then says "Oh you are here for the worship?" "Yes." "Oh! That's in the basement we are getting ready to have a funeral here!" Ooops...my bad. Service was excellent again that night. A full house and amazing alter services. Fantastic. After service we had to decide where to go for our last evening in the city. It was too late to go downtown because we didn't want a repeat of Chinatown. So we decided to explore Friendship Heights. We went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner and here is my last review for the post. Unless you are an expert mathemetician, do not got to the Cheesecake factory there. The waiter told us that he couldn't split our bill and when he finally did do it roughly, my meal which Shelley had figured out would cost $12.50 with tax and gratuity ended up costing me $16. It was ridiculous. But all in all the trip was fun and a great way to end out the trip.

Monday- Left at 8. Stopped for breakfast and lunch and got to Canton at about 4.

Well, I hope you enjoyed my summary of my trip. I really did have fun. This has taken me about an hour and a half to write and I still haven't told you about half of the fun stuff we did. I really had a blast.

Late Night

I was just asking myself "Ok, why am I staying up late tonight of all nights? I have to actually get up tomorrow!" Then the answer came to me. CNN Documentary and as I open the freezer- hellooooooooo chocolate chip waffles.I'm such a geek. So, anyway, I'm now eating a verrrrrrrrry early breakfast and enjoying my last chance for blogging in a while. I'm all packed. Mom went out and bought me two disposable cameras. I have a feeling they will be used quickly. Not really much going on. I will post pics from my trip once I get back. So until next Thursday, bye.

Mildly Annoying

http://www.badgerbadgerbadger.com/

Preparations

I have for the most part finished packing for the trip to Washington DC. I have collected my fundraising (or as my relatives who gave it call it, "mooch-money") for the trip today. I am so excited! This is my first trip out of state with no family members with me. It's gonna be awesome. The Blossoms (as my siblings are known) concern about me going away to this great place is what "prizes" I am going to get them. I think it changes daily. At the moment they want little teddy bears. Yesterday Michael told me that he wanted Transformers (?) and Gabri wanted Dora stuff. I don't know exactly what street vendor would have that combination.

Itenirary for the next week

I am going to DC tomorrow at 6 PM, so I won't be posting for probably a week. Here's my itenirary-

Afternoon out

Hung out with Rachel this afternoon. We went to Sip's and about halfway there it started thundering and raining. I saw my youth pastor (from Mt.Vernon) on the way there because he was at an intersection where we were crossing. So, we ran the rest of the way to Sips and I got a Cookies and Creme Frappe and Rachel got a Strawberry Smoothie. We were going to wait out the storm there and then we decided to go to Paragraphs (the bookstore next door) and looked around for a while. So then we thought that the storm was over, so we walked home. We were wrong. About 2 or 3 blocks from my house the sky went black and it started raining and lightning again. Rachel decided to wait out that storm at my house so we played Sims 2 for a while and then she called home and she's staying the night tonight now and we're going to watch movies and stuff (Titanic, Rent, and Center Stage) Sounds fun. Unfortunately, the aftermath of food poisoning is still with me. My mom made ice cream and got Dr.Pepper (which is my favorite drink). Well, the Dr.Pepper made me feel all gross and the Frappe earlier had made me feel kinda gross too, so I decided dairy was not a good idea. So, Mom is saving some of the ice cream for me and we have about 2 liters of Dr.Pepper for when I am better.

Dismantling the defense mechanism

My best friend, Rachel, has been having a very hard time with me moving away. Her home life isn't the greatest and whenever she needs to get away she calls me. The great thing has been that she's lived up the hill from me, about 10-15 minutes walk, so we could hang out all the time if we wanted to. And we pretty much have. Well, this summer, I have been gone a ton, so we haven't got to hang out a whole lot. Which triggered what my parents call a "defense mechanism". Apparently, this special adaptation causes a person's best friend to act like they hate them when they are dealing with a difficult transition, such as a move. For about a month, the few times I actually got to talk to Rachel, she was really stand-offish and I thought she hated me. She just called me. Apparently she doesn't hate me, which means as much as it pains me to say it my parents were right. So, in a few minutes I'm gonna go hang out with Rachel. Maybe go to the coffee shop or something like that. Hopefully the defense mechanism is dismantled for good.

Sick

I have what I think is Food Poisoning. Yipee. Went to church today and was completely miserable throughout the day. Went to a family at church's house for lunch and got sick, then passed out on their couch. Yippee. I'm feeling a little better now. I layed down when we got home, intending to only be there for maybe 30 minutes. This was at about 6. I got up at 9:38. I'm very rested now. Too rested, in fact. I can't go to sleep. That's a joy. Nobody is really online either. So I'm bored.

Sibling Rivalry

My brother and sister were fighting today and my brother was telling me about it. It was the funniest thing-

Me-Bubby, what's the matter?

Michael- Gabri's mad at me. (then proceeds to tell me the whole story)

Me- I'm sorry.

Michael- Yeah. I wish she had 3 eyebrows!!

I about died. He failed to see what was so funny.

Camp Reveiw

:30. First time I have been in my own house in 3 weeks! My bedroom is alomost completely empty right now, as are Gabri's bedroom and the bathroom. We haven't even put our house on the market yet. So much for that leap of faith. LOL. I am going to be homeschooling until the move because-
I think it will be easier going from home to school that way
I have already got all of the tears out of the way and don't want to redo that
Soooooo...homeschool it is. Yipee. So, anyway, camp update. Got to camp at about 3:30 Monday afternoon.Unpacked and got settled in time for dinner. My bed was actually fairly comfortable this week. Two stacked matresses that were very squishy. I had a dresser next to my bed, and a upper bunk with no mattress that I originally intended for my 56798097809740975902475093850 pairs of shoes that I brought, but it ended up being that and a resting places for all of the other 18 girls purses and stuff. Still nice though. If you have stayed in either the girls or boys pit at camp you know how wonderful shelf/dresser space is. LOL. The people that had beds around me were all really fun too.Kelli, Katie and Deedee on one side and Brittany from Middleport on the other. Kelli, Katie and I talked alot at extremely late/early hours when we couldn't get to sleep. Brittany is just extremely fun to talk to. For example last night we were talking and near Middleport there was this bridge called the Silver Bridge and awhile back it collapsed and there is this huge legend surrounding it about this thing called the Mothman. There's a movie about it and Brittany was telling me how lame the movie is and then told me the real story. Creepy stuff. And we talked about Walker Texas Ranger and Dateline (My dad calls her Dateline-girl, because when we were in Middleport looking at the church, she is so addicted to Dateline that she would always talk about it. LOL) So anyway, a not fun thing was that Wednesday and Thursday I was really sick. Cassie and Deedee had had the flu and I don't know what the deal was but I got sick, but not as bad as them. Still feel a little sick, but much better. Ummmm...what else? Oh, yesterday I about had a coronary. I was sitting at a table with Sis.Jewel and I had told her that this guy I have liked forever was coming that night. He and his family were at the table across from us and I pointed him out. Well, then he went by our table and I said "Hey, Nathanael!" and so he, who has the greatest smile I know of, smiles the biggest smile on earth at me and says "Oh, Hi!" I about melted. LOL. Sis.Jewel said something about him having a smile that could melt butter on bread or something like that. LOL. Oh, speaking of which, Sis. Jewel got healed Thursday night in Bro.Stoneking's service. It's awesome! Well, that's about all with camp. If I think about anything else I will post later.
