Doors and Windows

Everyone has heard the saying "If God closes a door, he opens a window." Today has proven that statement to me.

My interview yesterday was simply atrocious. The guy pretty much told me flat out that I was not what he was looking for. He was very rude when I told him that Sundays and Wednesday evenings were not an option for me. I told my dad about the whole scenario, and he agreed that it just was not worth it to compromise church just for a few bucks. Minimum wage to be exact. After the interview, which I know did not go well and even if it did, I'm not sure that I want the job anymore, I decided that I should look on the bright side. I would get to work at SS camp, and go to my aunt's like I usually do, and veg all summer. It wouldn't be so bad.

So today, I went to work with my dad (read as: I rode in the car and sat in the burning inferno of a car while my dad did his appointment that would "just take an hour" and ended up taking two, so I slept in the car, which because he took the keys in with him, I could not roll down the windows, so I slept, or rather, slipped into a heat stroke induced comatose state, until Dad came back and then we went and made copies and then went to lunch, all the while listening to my iPod) and we went to this great place called El Campestre with terrific authentic Mexican food. While I was eating my yummy chimichanga, my mom called my dad and told him that Cato had called today. I put in an application about 2 or 3 months ago. They want to interview me. At 1 PM tomorrow. This job would be so much better. I don't have to work Sundays, which the lady clarified to me when I first turned in my application, and the pay is a tiny bit better, and also, two words. Employee. Discount. Yeah, baby!

Tomorrow, at 1, I will be interviewing for a rocking job. That's awesomized.

Also, today I got a new book. And my SS card. Which means.....

Stay off the roads, Mt.Vernonites, Rebecca Ryan is getting her permit!

My nerves are insane....

I have my very first ever job interview today. I'm really nervous. I got 3 more references last night and I typed them all out, and I picked out my outfit to wear. I'm insane.

Life is against me...

So, my Uncle Peter is at our house tonight, so we went to Ruby Tuesday's for dinner. I love Ruby Tuesday's, but tonight was even better. About a year ago, at Ryan's when we had to go there for Thanksgiving because of the snowstorm that hit, there was an extremely cute waiter. He kind of looked like Clay Aiken, before the long, stringy, dyed-brown hair, and not-so-straightness. G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S! His name was Caleb, as I recall (no idea why I remember that). So, tonight we're at Ruby Tuesday's and my mom pokes me and asks "Did you see the waiter who looks kind of like Clay Aiken?" So I turned and there he was. I think. Unfortunately, Ruby Tuesdayers don't wear nametags. But was fairly sure. I had been considering it already, but suddenly I felt an extreme urge to become a waitress at Ruby Tuesday's. So I walked up to the servers podium and asked if they were hiring. They replied that they were always accepting applications. So, I got an application and read through it and all of the sudden that big cartoon red "DENIED" stamp appeared on my life. In small print-

You Must Be 21 or Older to apply for a position as server, as the serving of alcohol is required.

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

So, to ease my suffering, and to make you suffer (except for Cherie), here is a Clay video. My favorite in fact. Don't enjoy if you don't want to. I am not in a whiny sort of mood.

Or maybe this is my favorite. Not sure.

Wheel of Monotony

My dad has me doing something (once again) that is extremely boring. I have to type up 600 labels. Ugggggggggggh...

So I have my iPod playing on shuffle at the moment. Trying to keep myself entertained while doing this. Once again...uggggh.

I figure it is good practice, though. Tomorrow I am filling out an application for Starbucks in Kroger. Woohoo! I'm gonna be a workin' woman! I dunno if I should be excited or not. I really need to start earning my own money though. I can't (as nice as this would be) mooch off of my dad forever. Unfortunately. While I'm sure that I still have a few more years before my parents shove me out the door, I really should accept a little responsibility. Not too much though. Don't want to overexert myself. :) I'll keep you posted on the job situation. Keep your fingers crossed!
