Tiffany

The following is copied from www.mvacc.org

Tiffany passed away around 4:00 this afternoon. The doctors did all that they could. Her heart stopped and there was a lot of bleeding and they could not resecutate her. We know that she is walking down the streets of gold and looking Jesus in the face. We praise God for the victory and that his will was done.

Video from camp

Unlike last year, this one's actually of me.

Deana took this video on Thursday night at the consecration service. Feel free to boo where applicable.

More on Tiffany

Missy is Tiffany's sister-in-law, and has much more in depth information about her condition and she'll have it quicker than I will. Unless something drastic happens, well, more so than already has, I refer you to her blog for updates. Also, the church website has updates.

You'll have to wait...

I'm not going to post about my week at camp at the second. I have too much going on right now. I'm in a state of shock.

Last night, after a powerful church service, I had a voicemail from Dawn. The voicemail was about my friend Tiffany. She had been taken to the hospital by her parents because she was having trouble with her breathing and now she was in ICU in critical condition. There was a chance that her cancer was back.

I sat there in shock. I called Dawn back immediately and then rushed off to find my youth group friends. I found Heather McCartney, formerly Wilkinson, and she had just gotten the news. We both cried. I called Mistie bawling. Heather and I found Larissa and Brittany and went in to the staff banquet room and Heather told Bro.Ellis, our youth president, what had happened. The staff prayed for us.

I didn't sleep last night. Neither did Heather or Brittany. I called Dawn at lunchtime and she gave me an update.

Right now, my worst fears are being realized. The doctors have given Tiffany only a couple of days. The cancer is in her lungs and it's in it's most advanced stage. I went to go see her tonight before I left for Defiance. I was definately not prepared for what I saw at all. I had never been in an ICU room before. Tiffany right now is not the Tiffany that I know. I do not recognize the person that I saw in that bed tonight.

They transferred her to OSU tonight and are going to then send her to the James Cancer Clinic.

As for right now, I'm scared out of my wits. This girl is one of my friends. She's 24. 24! That's it. Nobody should have to go through something that agonizing, especially someone who hasn't had a chance to live their life.

If you read this, I am begging you to pray for Tiffany. She needs all the prayer she can get. Pray for her healing. Pray for comfort for her family and her friends during this time.

I will post updates as I get them.

Ummm...I guess you can say last night wasn't my night?

So, to top off my wonderful ranting I was doing, I also had to pay a visit to the ER last night. At 2:30 in the morning. For myself. Feel free to chuckle at my stupidity.

I am a slob (no amens from the peanut gallery, please) and my room is always a mess. I had a pink jaw clip flower hair decoration on my floor that had broken so that only the jagged part was still on there. While I was loading the van with my stuff (to save on time for today, according to my mother) I stepped on this clip. It went into my foot and got stuck there. After several attempts, all of them ending with me screaming like a baby, Mom took me to the hospital to get it taken out. Do you know how hard it is to hop on one foot for long periods of time with a flower dangling out of the other? Very.

We went into triage and the nurse gave me this weird look and said "Would it help if I told you that this is my first case like this?"

Yes, that makes me feel sooooooo much more at ease.

I ended up needing a tetanus shot, which burned, and when the doctor came in and tried to do the exact same thing that my dad had (just yanking out the flower) I screamed. It hurt majorly. So he decided to drug me. He gave me one some-form-of-measurement of Lidocaine straight into my foot. This also hurt like the dickens. So then he fibbed and told me that he was just cutting the flower off the clip. And he pulled out the clip. It was much less threatening looking.

This morning it looks like I stepped on a nail and honestly, I think my arm hurts worse than my foot.

Pondering...

I have been hyped up for camp for the past year. However, at the second, I am in such a foul mood that I'm trying to decide if I want to go to camp at all.

I most likely will. But I'm just in one of those pouty, grouchy moods where you are either bawling your eyes out or biting someones head off.

My packing is not going well and it's making me mad. I left my brown skirt that goes with my favorite brown sparkly shirt at my aunt's house, which has made me have to find 2 different outfits, since it went with two different shirts. My bobby pins have disappeared. My clip with which I do french twists has disappeared. My hangers are missing. I am not happy.

I have had emotional breakdowns at least 3 times in the past hour. I'm so frustrated and mad and irritated and all those fun emotions.

Plus, did I mention that they changed the whole layout of camp so it's really frustrating and weird? Which is also making me. Not happy.

I need some Starbucks right now.

In Response to Liz...

On the end of GA, George failed, yet he and Callie are trying to get pregnant. Plus, Christina, the strong one of the group, is an emotional wreck because Burke, who isn't coming back btw, left their wedding. Plus, now Meredith's sister is in the mix. And who all thinks that McDreamy is going to hook up with her? So anyway, I'm confused as to how the whole thing is going to work out.

I wish September would hurry up and get here...

I now have a THIRD show that has a season finale that leaves me extrordinarily angry. I just finished season 4 of NCIS. So now I have Scrubs, which made me mad, Grey's Anatomy, which I was just plain confused about, and NCIS, which makes me flaming mad.

I hate television.

I feel like doing a deep, controversial, rantish post....

But I got nothing. If you have any ideas for this, please leave me a comment. I have done no structured writing or anything since school ended and I can feel my genius IQ shrinking by the second. GAAAH!!!

Isn't it funny how you pray for school to be over, but by mid-July you half can't wait for it to start, and half are going "Holy Mother of Gerbils! I have *gag* SCHOOL in a month!"

Holy Mother of Gerbils? Dear Lord. Where did that come from?

Anyway, I'm going to the zoo for family night with my aunt and cousins tonight. I have no idea what exactly family night is, because neither does my aunt, but apparently the Columbus Clippers are going to be there? Why? I don't know. Baseball and small animals don't usually mix. Unless it's a slapstick comedy. *mind wanders*

Tomorrow, we are going to Easton Shopping Center and then to Graeters. Yum. Graeters is wonderful. Of course, it's ice cream and other than Weldon's pineapple stuff that they didn't tell me had pineapple in it because it just says tropical mix or something like that and I asked "what fruit is in that" and they listed everything BUT pineapple, and so then I tasted pineapple and it was gross, and then I got sick because pineapple makes me sick.

Run-on sentence, anyone?

ROFL

A visiting minister prayed during the offertory prayer.

"Dear Lord," he began with arms extended and a rapturous
look on his upturned face, "Without You, we are
but dust .."

He would have continued; but, at that moment,
one very obedient little girl (who was listening carefully for a
change) leaned over to her mother and asked quite audibly in her shrill
little girl voice,

"Mommy, WHAT is butt dust?"

If you would please direct your attention to the blogroll at left....

With the title of "People I Know".

My dear friend, Ratchol, has started a blog. Some of you may be familiar with some of her past credits, such as MySpace, Facebook, PentecostZone, and EC. And from church. Visit her sad little corner of the blogosphere, and leave her a message after the beep.

*beep*

Late Night

This is my third blog in 2 hours. Weird.

Anyway, I found a copy of the new Harry Potter movie online!

*maniacal laugh*

I'm about 45 minutes in, and it's fairly good so far. They left a bunch of stuff out from the book, and since the 5th book is my favorite in the series so far, I'm a little ouchie about that. But thank goodness for TV Links anyway.

I'm updating my blogger profile. I decided it's time for me to get a new random question. Although I did like my answer to the last one I had. So here it is, set in stone forever in the blogosphere-

Random Question- Oscillate my metallic sonatas with your plan for the Panama canal:
My Genius Witty Answer-Ok, here's what I'm thinking...we get an army of Kamizaze Lemurs, a rubber hose, and a Hoover Vacuum Cleaner.....

I slay me sometimes. I must admit, that was pretty good if I do say so myself.

Awwww...

I just found this picture of my brother from a couple of years ago. Majorly cute, yes?
And then this picture of Gabri.....And this is all of the kids on my mom's side (minus James because these were taken before he was born)

Notice my lack o' glasses? And the gorgeous denim jacket. I loved that jacket. It got stolen at school my freshman year. Michael love the coat that he's wearing in that picture too. It belongs to Micah now. Angelene is much bigger than that now and she now has the jacket that Gabri is wearing in the picture. Michael now has the jacket that Andrew is wearing in the picture. And those shoes that I'm wearing fell apart at camp that year.

Missing

5 episodes of NCIS Season 4 from TV Links. If found please contact me immediately.

Boo!
Hiss!

My Great Aunt Jemima

I don't have a whole lot of blogging time tonight, but if I don't post this, Amy will come and murder me in my sleep. She really would, too. Seriously. Don't mess with her.

Amy was one of the 5 dorm moms at camp this week (Kaylen, Lindsey, Gabby, and me were there, too.) On Thursday night we were pretty much pooped and Amy was developing a twitch from hearing-

"Children......That sounds like.....CHILLLLLLDRREEENNN!"

Anyway, so we were all hanging out and talking and my crazy mixed up geneology came up somehow. I'm pretty much your classic Heinz 57. So by the end of the evening when I said I was some other nationality somewhere down the line, Amy finally snapped (ish) and said, "Alright, Becky, that's it. You've just got to be lying now." So from that point on whenever we would mention someone, Amy would be like "What? You're related to them, too?" For example, we were discussing weird celeb deaths. Did anyone else out there know that Baby Bop died of a heroin overdose? So, while we were discussing this, Gabby made some comment and Amy said something like, "Hey, that's Becky's aunt you're talking about!"

And my Aunt Jemima made some good pancakes.

P.S. Amy, you better be leaving me a coment on this.

Recovery

I am doing a lot better than I was on Tuesday. Which I guess isn't really saying much. But I digress. The funeral was yesterday and it was a very nice service. Bro. LJ and my grandma's nephew officiated. I had my two best friends there at the funeral which was a great comfort. Mistie took me to Friendly's afterwards for ice cream which we all know cures all wounds. Or at least acts like a bandaid.

Despite the circumstances, it was nice to have a night in my own bed. Before heading back to the rack....err.. I mean the dorm. Army Gal is coming out to camp tonight which should be fun especially since the talent show is tonight and I'm trying to talk her into staying for the monstrosity. One more night here until I head to my Aunt Faith's house. And I have swimming tomorrow too. My first experience as a dorm mommy has been pretty good, I'm not completely scarred for life.

The camp food is another story....

Perking myself up...

Today is not my day.

I am a dorm mom at camp this week. Which means last night I got nooooo sleep. And it just got soooo much better when I woke up.

My alarm went of at 6:45, and I'm like, hmm, I'll just lay here for about 2 minutes and wake up and then go get my shower.

Am I really that stupid, Self?

I don't even remember falling back to sleep. All I know is that I looked at the clock 2 seconds later and it was 7:18. Weirdness.

So, I went and got my shower. And the shower curtain went out of the shower and drenched my clothes. Yay.

So I set my stuff I my bed. And the lid on my body wash came off. Cleaning my sheets in the process. Not.

Plus, I have to go to calling hours for my grandmother tonight, because of which I was in a very "AGHGAHGEKHKEHKAHKFHAKHFAKH" mood yesterday and today for anyway.

But, on the bright side, ginormous was made a word by the Merriam Webster Dictionary , which is great.

So, why is the spell checker on Mozilla Firefox still telling me that ginormous is a typo with "enormous" as the only suggestions.

Go ignore a moose.

In You All's Face!

Go ahead, readers of NinjaJohn's blog. Beat the snot out of me. I knew that there was no NinjaBaby all along. Partly because Gus-Gus is the son of DoraMax, the guinea pig of my sister, and the brother of my guinea pig, Probie, shown at left WITH Gus-Gus. Currently Probie is pacing his cage, which he is in all alone. Poor guinea pig. But he'll be fine. Right now I'm laughing at the comments on the NinjaBlog. It was funny following along. When you knew what was really happening. When members in your own household had no clue. Too fun.
P.S. Did you seriously buy toys for the guinea pig NinjasJohnAndMistie? I was not there for the transfer de guinea pig but my parents told me about that.
