Fiddling

Buckeye Lake is boring now. I have swam in the big swimming pool now. Also known as the Gulf O' Mexico. About 30 feet from shore, shuffling my feet for rays *shudder* and being submerged and gagged by salty gross water. In short, IT WAS AWESOME!!!

Also, I made my profile pretty. Isn't it? That was my first attempt at a homemade header. But it's not too bad, I think.

Until I get the pictures and videos from today up, here's a post from my friend Hayley. You will laugh. I promise.

No Small Fires

I was allowed to go out by myself today. No, not "out" (you can breathe now Sis.Jewel. There is no significant other. I wish.) but my mom went to the Florida Aquarium with the kids and Dad went to business meetings and I went out by myself. Of course, I was contained to the exhibition hall, but still. I ended up meeting up with my Aunt Shana and hanging with her, which was fun. And ran into the Borliks. Some great exhibits this year. Knock-off Coaches galore and for $85! Also, the Slovakian missionaries were selling crystal products including Cinderella slippers. They were so pretty.

Grey's Anatomy starts up tonight! WOOHOO!!

As for my issue a few posts ago, the issue has gotten steadily worse. I'm just about to the point of not caring. That is not a point I want to be at, because there is a chance that once I get there, the relationship between us will never be fixed. That isn't something I want to happen. But it may.

Welcome to Florida

We got here at about 10:30 lasst night. Our hotel is just too cool. It's built out of this adobe stuff and has a huge open air courtyard in the middle of it. Which is awesome.

Well worth the terrible 16 hour drive. I've made the trek by car down here once before, but I was 8 and didn't realize what was going on. And my Grandma Ryan in all of her wisdom heavily drugged me so that I could read the whole way without getting carsick.

More later. Going for breakfast.

Now, back to our regularly scheduled programming

I had a blast yesterday. I spent the whole day with Sis.Redmond, Alison, Lori, Danielle, Hannah, Garrett...okay, this list is too long. There were people there, the end.

Anyway, I stayed after to set up the youth bulletin board and went to Wendy's. Also, Wal-Mart. Garrett and Mark disappeared into the hunting section doing God-Knows-What, Sis.Redmond went to print off pictures, and I took the younger girls, and Danielle and Lori, and we went shoe shopping.

We all had a blast. We tried on shoes and didn't attempt to buy a thing. It was great fun, however irritating to the other customers. We took the above shoe picture with our favorite shoes. Actually, Janica (wearing the red shoe) was wearing my favorite and Lori (wearing the brown sequined heel) was wearing my second favorite shoe. My foot (black sequined flat) was wearing the third favorite. Alison loved her shoes and they were so cute (grey and black heels). The ones she's holding up have no significant value except for her being goofy. And yes, Hannah and Janica (also striking poses) do have straws in their mouths. Don't ask me why.

Oh, and a brief moment to add that I am back in the Sunday School teaching saddle. I'm teaching the K-2 class with Krishana Weber, Sis.Weber, and Michael Simon. Sunday was my first day and went quite well.

Here's the thing about the class though. Tiff used to teach this class. Which can bum me out a little bit. Not much, just when I walked in there's a picture of Tiffany with the kids. I wanted to cry. So, that was a bummer in general and then Jennifer walked in and was being really quiet. I asked her what was wrong and she said she was just missing Tiffany. Great. It was just one of those things, you know?

Our Singsperation was last night, too. Great fun. Above are the "Mini-Mimes" practicing IBC's "Everybody Praises". They did great. Our Hands of Praise team did "Holy Thou Art, God" and "My All". I was feeling real shaky on "My All", but in general I think that things went pretty well.

Ouch

I'm kind of hurt right now. I will not go into details, because the issue is big enough already, but be it known to the world that betraying somebody's trust is not cool, people. Not cool at all.

She's a Smart One.....

Me- Awww....that picture turned out cute!
Alison- Yeah, but my breath probably smells horrible!

Ummm...riiiiight....

She was mocked soundly after this, of course.

Mirrors

First of all, you simply MUST read this post from Chantell. I definitely get the somethingness issue.

Second of all, I don't like my mirror. Because it is obviously lying to me. I have a HOP thing at church tonight AND I'm going to General Conference this week and for the first time in about 6 months.....

I have a zit on my forehead.

BLAH! Those are horrible. You always get them when you don't want to. Such as now. Or Picture Day.

Why me? Why always me?

Edits to the blogroll

Take note. Go and check them. Actually, there's no new blogs. Just my aunt and uncle's website. Which I had never added.

Oops.

Notes from Today

  1. Mom sitting next to me at soccer game- if your child is going to scream and yell and kick and make a scene, lock him in a cage and please, oh PLEASE do not bring him. If you must bring him, do not sit next to me. Please. I beg you.
  2. Woman at Starbucks. Yes, I am aware that my brother asked for a Java Chip Frappucinno with Mint just like mine. Yes, I know that this has coffee in it. Yes, he's allowed having coffee. He drinks coffee at home. Black, I may add. I'm giving you your $10 for coffee, now please give it to him.
  3. FCCLA District President. I was at the meeting. I don't need the minutes. I had no say in the decisions anyway and you've already sent me the minutes three times. Enough!
  4. CollegeNews.com. I have not yet graduated from Nursing School as I indicated when applying for your scholarship. I don't care about Nursing oppurtunities in Knox County. If I ever do get a nursing degree, I most certainly will not be living in Ohio. I unsubscribed from you once. Why are you still contacting me?
  5. Howard University. You are my target school. Why are you the only one I haven't heard from yet?
  6. University of DC. You told me 3 weeks ago that I would be contacted within the week after you transferred my request to admissions. Still waiting.

Here's my first two attempts.

A Broadway Show, High Standards, and some other stuff

"Give My Regards To Broadway".

It's no Spamalot, but it'll do.

On the other hand, I am thinking of pushing myself to do well on the SAT and ACT. If I get a certain score, I will semi-reward myself by applying at MIT. Yes. The MIT. They don't look at GPA as much as they look at testing (Glory, glory, Hallelooooooooyah!) so if I meet my goal, I will apply there. Just for kicks. And the off chance that I might possibly get in. Of course, that chance is teeny tiny. But I'll take it. Only if I meet my goal though.

I am helping Carolyn with the Mini-Mimes for Singsperation this year! YAY!! I just got an e-mail from her at about 1ish and she asked me to, and I said that I would. We have practice tonight.

My solo for HOP's song for Singsperation is coming along ok, I guess. I have a speaking part in the song (well, I'm signing to someone talking) which means that it's a little faster than I'm used to, because people tend to talk faster than they sing unfortunately. I'll have it down by then though.

Tampa next week. So excited! Will have TV access for Grey's Anatomy AND NCIS season premieres! YES!!!

Swoop-dee-doo

That's my word of the day. Ask Missy what it means if you're curious

So anywhoooo....This week is my own personal holiday. See? Ain't it nifty?

Nothing really happening today. I find out what play we're doing tomorrow. That's bout it.

Another Birthday....

Today is my brother's birthday.

He's seven today. And for his birthday, he has requested that I buy him a Zebra Cake at school (you know, those Little Debbie cupcakes with the stripes?) He's real hard to please.

Happy Birthday Bubby!

Liz Brain

I had a Lizness moment last night, and I can say that because she has been my friend, literally, since I was born, so I know it was a her moment

So, last night I was talking to her parents about books and they said something about Man in The Iron Mask. Sis.Theresa specifically said, " That's the musketeers from The 3 Musketeers."

About 5 minutes later, Bro. Ross says something about Dartagnan joining the 3 Musketeers in the book The 3 Musketeers.

A light bulb went off and I said-

"Hey, those are the same people from Man in the Iron Mask!"

Der-da-der

At least I know Mt.Rushmore isn't natural. (Don't hurt me, Lizness!)

Go Hither....

And tell my Dad "Happy Birthday", for it is today.

A week lost...

So, we aren't doing Bye-Bye Birdie. Because, we needed 50 people. And 29 showed up to audition. So we won't know what play we are doing until at least Wednesday. Oh joy.

Honors English Pays Off!

I took a Grammer Test for fun online. I was so proud of myself.

Your Score: English Genius

You scored 100% Beginner, 92% Intermediate, 93% Advanced, and 86% Expert!

You did so extremely well, even I can't find a word to describe your excellence! You have the uncommon intelligence necessary to understand things that most people don't. You have an extensive vocabulary, and you're not afraid to use it properly! Way to go!

Thank you so much for taking my test. I hope you enjoyed it!

Casting....

I'll know my part in about half an hour. When I get to school. And waltz over to the office window. And mark my initials on that part on the cast list.

Anyway.

I'll try to post during Visual Basic today.

My stomach is in knots right now.

I'm soooo going into the chorus.

Completely destroyed my vocal audition. The iPod decided to be dumb, so I went acapella. Bad idea. My voice cracked.

Acting audition went ok. Unfortunately, my singing audition will prohibit me from using the totally awesome acting skills.

Boo.

Audition....

The Bye-Bye Birdie audition is today at 3:15. After school, in the choir room. I'm wearing my lucky shirt. Awesome. So, I've practiced my buttocks off with the singing, yet not to the point where my vocal chords are shot. And my monlogue is just too awesome. So, I think I'm ready.

Pray,saints, pray!

I had a phone call today....

Admissions at George Washington University called me today. We talked for about 10 minutes. And the admissions lady told me happy birthday.

Sweet.

Unsolicited College Propoganda! (And shoes!)

I got mail from Vegas today!!! Woohoo!

See how I thriftily hid my address to protect my security? Eh? Eh?

And it's from Reno(and Gomorrah!)

And this I did solicit for....

And everyone at HOP saw it yesterday. And politely ooh'ed, aah'ed, and politely pretended to be interested. As will my medically occupated friends (read- Dawn) tonight at church.

And check out my early birthday presents!

Yes, people. That is real, live denim on those babies.

And these white shoes (which I'm not sure what I will wear with) are gorgeous.

And look at the heel. Wedges!!!

I don't like hot dow-awgs!

Snap

I was in Shriver's KAP American History Class today, as I am everyday during 3rd period. We heard a noise and the following conversation commenced-

Aleta- Not to worry, the school's just burning down.
Shriver-Actually, it's a tractor beam and pretty soon you will start being lifted up.
Shayna- Ooooh snap....
Shriver-Or it's been the rapture and...well, we're all still here.
Shayna- Ooooh bigger snap...
Blake- Yay! We've all been saved!
Shriver-Um, no Blake, that's not exactly how it works....
Blake- Ooooh snap...

Never Forget

How cool/scary is that?

I have, in the course of the past afternoon, recieved 2 e-mails from the Johns Hopkins University Admissions Office.

EEK!!!

Comment Drought

I feel that you don't love anymore. I have to pull teeth to get comments from you. You'd think after 2 years of blogging I would have generated some interest. But no.

Soooo....My life is boring right now. I talked to my friend at Denison University (Rachel) today. Apparently she is shocked how much of a party school is it. Go figure. I was surprised too. That school is expensive. And hard to get into. Hmmmm....

Speaking of college, I'm looking at some. 3 in DC (yes, as in Washington) and 3 or 4 here. And I'm looking at apartments (online) in DC. Just in case. But who knows. We'll have to see.

That's just about all there is to speak of right now.

Because you guys don't love me.

Early Mornings at MVHS

This was taken this morning at school. We're way to hyped up in the morning.

Does God get tired?

These may be a result....

I hate the cat

I am having THE worst morning. No lie. I was exhausted when I woke up, for one, and stuff just didn't get any better.

My grandma called up to tell me that last night, my brother's cat had tried to get Probie, ripping out the screen on the top of his cage. She then sat and stared at him last night. I woke up to a guinea pig with sever PTSD. Or something. He was shaking and hiding in his tunnel. So, I gave him some lettuce and he's in Michael's room, which the door is closed to, and I threw the cat out of the house. I really wish we could get rid of her. She's already killed one of my pets (a hamster about 2 years ago). I just hate cats.

So after, losing my glasses (which I found), dropping a coffee mug (which almost, but didn't break. It did, however, fall on my foot. Which I'm not so sure didn't break.), and not being able to find my favorite shirt, I've gone from not a morning person, to a volcano. I'm going to explode....

Also, Algebra is going terribly. My horrible teacher had two great lines this week.

1- 5 kids in our class have above a 'c'. His response was, "Oh, I'm not too worried yet. We haven't done much work.."
2- I asked a question about a math problem. He said, "That's just the way the book says to do it."

Nice.

*prays he doesn't read this*

SNB asked what was so special about this guy (9YG).

I don't know exactly what the ONE thing is that makes me turn to goo, honestly. But whatever it is, it's been there since I was 7, yes, 7. We were friends until we were 11 or 12 and he found out I liked him. Then he kind of blew me off. In recent years, we've made progress. He now speaks when spoken to.

I was sooooo over him on Monday. Until he showed up. At mid-winter, Mistie had told me to snap out of it. I did, and then Monday, 7 months later, he showed up. And I melted like a popsicle in July.

Now, I'm fairly intelligent. I know my chances with this guy (psssstt..it's right around zero, people!). You'd think I would learn. But, I don't.

...

Yeppers...keep them plentiful comments coming.

About the end of my last post....

Who am I kidding? I am sooo not as over him as I thought. Great.

Also, thanks for all those comments I've been getting. Really appreciate those.
